Returning to Paradise... JERICOACOARA Version 2.0

One more year the winds are taking me to the beautiful beach of Jericoacoara. This time accompanied by a Spanish Team that hooked up. If you stop to think about it, where can you go train for 4 months in a row without missing even one day? The answer is easy: JERI!! This year it’s a bit crowded I must say…I have had to punch out a few to get my waves….HaHaHa!!!

Back in Canarias!

Following a winter surfing the incredible waves between Jeri and Bonaire its time to move towards the east and to begin practicing in what would be the scene for the next PWA Freestyle competition. Now I am in Fuerteventura after having tested the radical conditions of Pozo Izquierdo for several days. After which, I came to the following conclusion: With 50 knots and extremely choppy seas….EVERYTHING GETS COMPLICATED!!!!

In Bonaire with Tonky, Taty and Kiri

There probably isn’t a better place in the entire world to improve one’s freestyle skills than the Bonaire Bay, also known as Lac Bay. It’s not only for the smooth and constant wind, nor for the flat water, but for the daily company of Tonky, Taty and Kiri. They were always there willing to help me. Thanks a ton you guys for your help and support during these 3 months!!! You’re the best!!! XXX

The BIG Wednesday

Everyone knows that Jericoacoara is a magic place both for the ambience and the riding conditions. It’s a given that more and more people are learning about this place, but its on days like this one that you feel like you are truly in the right place at the right time. One huge Wednesday in Jericoacoara, we had series after series of waves between logo high and mast high with winds for 3.8. One day mas in “Jeri….paradise”

Intensive training in Jericoacoara

After a hard summer of work, I was finally in Jeri! The conditions were incredible. Every day we had winds for a 3.8 side off on the right side with an extremely long wave between a meter and a meter and a half. The wave was always there…. waiting. Fantastic!!!! Waves up to 30 bottoms that leave a perfect flat space for freestyling. It’s really a unique place and “I´m going to have to spend the next 3 months here…I don’t think I will be able to handle it!”
